SLAYER's KERRY KING Gets His Own Bobblehead
March 15, 2011The Music Farm, one of the world's largest Internet musical equipment retailers, will soon start selling the official Kerry King (SLAYER) bobblehead.
A short video presentation of the Kerry King bobblehead can be seen below.
A bobblehead doll, also known as a bobbing head doll, nodder, or wobbler, is a type of collectible toy. Its head is often oversized compared to its body. Instead of a solid connection, its head is connected to the body by a spring in such a way that a light tap will cause the head to bobble, hence the name.
SLAYER returned to the live stage on March 4 at the Melbourne stop of Australia's Soundwave traveling festival less than a week after the band's frontman Tom Araya was hospitalized because he was suffering from what his wife said was "vertigo due to extreme dehydration and lack of rest."
SLAYER was forced to cancel its appearance at the Sydney, Australia stop of the Soundwave festival on February 27 as a result of Araya's illness.
SLAYER is currently on the road without founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who underwent emergency surgery on his right arm in January after contracting a serious infection, possibly caused by a spider bite. He is now recuperating at home and is expected to make a full recovery. He will return to the SLAYER lineup as soon as he has fully recovered.
Hanneman's temporary replacement for the Soundwave festival and current European tour is Gary Holt from veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS.
